Prepares forms, verifies insurance benefits, and explains financial requirements to patients.
Responsibilities Interviews in-coming patients for medical care to obtain demographic information, authorizations for treatment, and related information and consent Confirms patient services needed Admitting inpatient ER and transferring appropriate paperwork to ER/Floor medical staff Records patient demographic, insurance, and billing codes into registration and billing system; research missing information on intake forms; obtains signatures and release forms Provides administrative support for the unit such as answering telephones, routing calls, taking messages, ordering laboratory/medical tests and receiving laboratory results, redirecting medical crisis calls, and providing general information Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or GED Medical experience (preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.
g.
fax machines and printers) Professional attitude and appearance Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise Excellent organizational skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Customer service attitude Job Type:
